Overview
Computer use can reach systems without APIs, but it is a more fragile and ambiguous action boundary.
I prefer a typed API tool when one exists because inputs, permissions, errors, idempotency, and results are explicit. Computer use is justified when the target has no suitable API or the task genuinely depends on visual interaction. It runs in an isolated environment with limited credentials and requires confirmation before consequential actions.
